Apple Adds 10 New Music and Video Channels to QuickTime TV

Sony Music and ZDTV Lead New QTV Lineup

INTERNET WORLD, LOS ANGELES—April 5, 2000—Apple® today added 10 new channels to its QuickTime™ TV (QTV) network, the Internet's highest quality network for streaming audio and video. The new channels expand the diversity of QTV's programming with international content, major— and independent-label music, industry news, fitness, comedy and short films. New QTV content providers include: Beggar's Banquet Records, Caroline's Comedy Club, Cipher New Media, Global Music Network from the UK, HyperTunez from France, IFILM, Oddcast, Pitch TV, Sony Music and ZDTV.
“QuickTime TV is the best entertainment network on the Internet,” said Philip Schiller, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “QTV now streams over 40 premium channels of music, video and news from leading content providers right onto your Mac or Windows desktop, for free.”

The new channels join the QTV network's growing lineup of leading music, video and news providers, including: ABCNEWS.com, BBC WORLD, Bloomberg, Disney.com, ESPN.com, FOXNews.com, FOXSports.com, HBO, The Knitting Factory, NPR, Rhino Records, RollingStone.com, VH1, Virgin Radio, Warner Bros. Records, Inc., The Weather Channel and WGBH Boston.
Macintosh® and Windows users can view QTV's diverse content using Apple's QuickTime 4 player, which is available as a free download from www.apple.com/quicktime.
