India most cyber-attacked country: Expert

Hyderabad: India is the most cyber-attacked country, said Lt. General Rajesh Pant, chief, National Cyber Security Coordinator. “Because of the population and presence of over 500 million internet users, India is bound to be the most attacked country in terms of cyber attacks,” he said.
Stressing on increasing number of cybercrime cases, he said the Ministry of Home Affairs had introduced a cybercrime portal to register complaints (cybercrime.gov.in)
“Over 90 per cent of cybercrimes are mobile-related crimes.Bangalore alone records over 1 lakh complaints through the portal every month,” he said, adding that detection of cyber crime and conviction still remains in nascent stages. TNN
