Thomas Henry launches watermelon-flavoured mixer

Tonic and mixer producer Thomas Henry has unveiled its first new flavour in four years: Vivid Watermelon.

Daytime occasions and low-and-no trends were front of mind for Thomas Henry

The new flavour is designed to tap into daytime drinking trends with summer in Europe on the horizon, as well as continuing the Berlin-based brand’s ‘category innovator’ strategy, which senior international brand manager Marco Frizzarin explained to The Spirits Business last week.

The brand claims the new expression is the only premium watermelon-flavoured mixer on the market.

Back in 2020, it released Pink Grapefruit as a replacement for its Ultimate Grapefruit flavour.

Currently, Vivid Watermelon is a limited edition product and is available in roughly 15 markets so far, the brand noted.

These include Benelux, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Armenia and Slovenia.

The mixer is described as ‘refreshingly juicy’ with a lightly-sweet watermelon taste and hints of pomegranate and citrus.

In a cocktail it is recommended as a Watermelon Highball with vodka, or in Spritz variations – however the brand adds that it can also be enjoyed as a standalone drink as well.

Previously, Frizzarin had told The Spirits Business that with innovation, Thomas Henry is also looking at appealing to “pure consumption on top of mixability, and also something that brings the brand more into the daytime occasion, because people are drinking less in the night and more during the daytime”.

Thomas Henry made its presence felt recently at wine and spirits trade show ProWein 2025, which took place across three days in Düsseldorf last month.

The brand hosted Happy Hour at The Spirits Business Innovation Bar at the trade show, which saw the team from the Rumah in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, drop by to mix up drinks for guests.
